Sky’s online streaming service now offering monthly passes aimed at cricket and football fans who do not want to take up contract subscriptions.
NOW TV is Sky’s dish-free online streaming service and have just launched a new monthly sports pass this month which goes beyond the current day and weekly passes they offer, costing £6.99 and £10.99 respectively. NOW TV also offers Entertainment and Sky Movies passes on a non-contract basis.
The Sky Sports Month Pass costs £31.99 and its launch coincides with The Ashes and the new Premier League football season.
NOW TV is Sky’s most significant strategic move since broadband
NOW TV is Sky’s answer to the rise of on-demand streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. You can watch Sky channels live with NOW TV on a whole host of devices; via the browser on your computer or apps on Apple or Android phones/tablets and various games consoles.
Additionally NOW TV offer their own set-top box (essentially a re-branded Roku box) and will be launching their next generation box in August to provide customers with “an even faster and smoother experience.” Their new box will include an Ethernet port to support a wired as well as wireless connection and a processor which is claimed to be five times faster.
